Corrections Policy
How factual errors, outdated claims, and technical inaccuracies are identified, classified, corrected, and disclosed on this website.
Overview
Suchibrata.in is an independent educational and research platform maintained by Suchibrata Patra. Despite careful review, articles, tutorials, research notes, and paper summaries may occasionally contain errors, outdated information, or technical inaccuracies. This Corrections Policy explains how such issues are handled when identified, and how readers can report them.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
We are committed to correcting errors promptly, transparently, and in good faith once they are identified. Accuracy is treated as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time check at the point of publication particularly given how quickly fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Healthcare AI evolve.
This commitment does not amount to a guarantee that every error will be caught or that every article will be kept perpetually up to date. The scope of this commitment is described further in the Errors & Omissions section of the Disclaimer.
Types of Corrections
Corrections are classified by severity, which determines how they are handled:
- Minor corrections. Typographical errors, grammar, broken or outdated links, formatting issues, and small clarifications that do not change the meaning, accuracy, or technical substance of an article.
- Substantive corrections. Changes to a factual claim, statistic, code example, citation, or technical explanation that materially affects how the article should be understood for example, a corrected formula, a fixed bug in example code, or an updated benchmark figure.
- Retractions. Cases where an article's central claim or conclusion is found to be substantially incorrect, unsupported, or based on flawed methodology, such that the article as published can no longer be relied upon.
How Corrections Are Made
- Minor corrections are made directly to the article text without a separate notice, since they do not change the substance of the content.
- Substantive corrections are made directly in the article, accompanied by an updated "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, a brief inline note describing what was changed and why.
- Retractions are handled by adding a clearly visible notice at the top of the article explaining that it has been retracted or substantially revised, along with the reason. The original content may be edited, marked as superseded, or removed, depending on the nature of the issue.
Correction Labeling & Transparency
This website aims to be transparent about changes to published content rather than silently rewriting articles after the fact:
- Every article displays a "Last Updated" date, which is revised whenever a substantive correction or retraction is made.
- Where practical, a brief note is added near the correction itself (for example, "Corrected on [date]: ...") so readers can see exactly what changed.
- Corrections are not used to quietly alter the original argument or conclusion of an article without acknowledgment. If a conclusion changes materially, this is disclosed as a substantive correction or retraction rather than an unannounced edit.
Retractions
Retraction is reserved for cases where the core claim, finding, or code of an article is found to be incorrect, misleading, or unreliable in a way that a minor or substantive correction cannot adequately address. A retracted article remains accessible wherever reasonably possible, with a prominent notice explaining the retraction, rather than being silently deleted, so that the record remains transparent.
How to Report an Error
Readers who notice a possible error are encouraged to report it. To help with a faster review, please include where possible:
- The URL or title of the article in question.
- The specific claim, statistic, code snippet, or citation believed to be incorrect.
- A brief explanation of why it appears incorrect, along with a supporting source or reasoning, if available.
Reports can be sent using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
Review & Response Process
As an independently maintained, single-author platform, every report is reviewed personally by the author. Reports are checked against the original source material, the author's own implementation or experiments where relevant, and the article as published. If an error is confirmed, it is corrected following the process described above.
There is no fixed service-level turnaround time for reviewing or resolving reports, and submitting a report does not guarantee a specific outcome. Higher-impact errors, such as those affecting code correctness, statistical conclusions, or healthcare-related content are prioritized over minor stylistic issues.
Changes to This Policy
This Corrections Policy may be revised and updated at any time without prior notice, to reflect changes in editorial practices or applicable standards. Continued use of this website following any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated Corrections Policy. Visitors are encouraged to review this page periodically to remain informed of any changes.
Governing Law
This Corrections Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of India. Any disputes arising from this Corrections Policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
